Use these four amazing tips to make your online life more secure.

1. Install an antivirus and keep it updated!

This will help protect your device against any malicious software. You should, now and then, open your antivirus and have a look if the green arrow is always on indicating that everything is 100%. If you see a red arrow, make sure to follow the instructions on how to get things back on track!

2. Use unique passwords for each and every login.

The best way to prevent one data breach from having a domino effect is to use a strong unique password for every online account you have.

3. Get a VPN and use it.

Any time you connect to the internet through a Wi-Fi network you do not know, you should have a VPN, or ‘Virtual Private Network.’ It is possible that while connected to your favourite coffee spots Wi-Fi network someone else could be looking through or stealing the data and files sent from your laptop or device! Here is where the VPN comes in handy – the VPN encrypts your internet traffic, routing it through a server owned by the VPN company. This means NO ONE can snoop through your data.

4. Use a 2 factor authentication

Yes, it’s a pain, but it helps make your accounts more secure! Basically what this means is that you need to pass another layer of authentication, not just username and password, to get into your account.

With these tips you’ll be able to up your online security game, protect your data, your internet traffic and your identity.
