Let’s set the record straight: if your phone goes for a swim, rice is not a magic cure.

Myth 1: Rice saves phones.

Nope. Rice can absorb some surface moisture but won’t reach the moisture hiding deep inside your phone, the stuff that corrodes circuits and kills your device over time.

Myth 2: If it turns back on, it’s fine.

Wrong again. Water damage is sneaky – it can cause slow, progressive issues like random shutdowns or battery failure days or weeks later.

Myth 3: Sealed = waterproof.

Your “water-resistant” phone is designed for splashes, not scuba diving. Age, drops, and heat can weaken seals, making water damage more likely.

What to actually do:

  • Power it off immediately.
  • Don’t charge it.
  • Bring it in to our repair experts as soon as possible.

Why it matters: The faster we can open your device, dry it properly, and replace affected parts, the higher the survival rate.
