Attention, Samsung phone users! Here’s some exciting news for you. Samsung is upping its game, and now you’ll be able to cast to Chromecast-compatible devices! Get ready for a whole new casting experience with your Samsung phone.
All you need to do to stream your phone’s screen through Chromecast is to dig through Smart View and find the hidden developer settings menu, and then turn on the feature.
Curious about how to do it? No worries, it’s a breeze! Here’s the step-by-step guide:
- Long-press the Smart View tile in the quick settings.
- Tap the three-dot icon and head to settings.
- Access the “about Smart View” menu.
- Rapidly tap the Smart View label ten times.
- When prompted, enter “#00rtsp00” (without the quotes) as the password.
Voila! You’ve now unlocked the developer options menu. From there, simply enable the Google Cast toggle, and you’ll be able to see all your Chromecast, Android TV, and Google TV devices when using Smart View.
Just to be clear, our friends at Android Police verified these steps on the Galaxy S23 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Fold 4. All devices were running One UI 5.1, so if you have an older version, results may vary. But hey, give it a shot and see how it goes! And remember, if you ever need to access the dev panel again, just repeat the process with the same password. Happy casting!
